Rainbow Meadows Ranch — “a horses heaven.”
I was looking for unique events in the Little Osarks Region-KS. – in the LASR.net site and in my search I came across a pretty neat place that was sponsoring an event at Kanopolis Lake in Kansas. It’s called Ride to the Rescue Fun Ride. It’s to help raise a bit of money and to bring some awareness to a ranch that is home to a number of rescued, retired and surrendered horses, all of whom receive the utmost in care and love. It is open to visitation but since it is a working ranch advanced noticed is required. It’s called the Rainbow Meadows Ranch. Visit Rainbow Meadows Ranch
Lecompton Kansas – a small town with a big history.
Territorial Capital of Kansas —- that is Lecompton Kansas. Looking for a unique day trip? Do you like history that helped change a state or helped name the capital city of another state? Actual buildings where you can stand and feel yesterday? Well, it might be somewhat surprising but Lecompton, Kansas is a great place to experience the beginnings of the state of Kansas.
When my wife and I drove over to Lecompton — just a few miles from Lawrence, KS. — I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to spend the afternoon in such a small community. What was really there to see or do. Well, we were pleasantly surprised as to what is there and how they have kept it all together.
